Under the Council of Australian Governments' (COAG) mental health reforms, mental health has a similar standing to general health in the nation's funded Medicare system, allowing all Australians to have access to effective treatment for mental health problems. The reforms are also a significant recognition of the effectiveness of psychological treatments delivered by psychologists.
Following receipt of referral, the patient will be contacted within 5 working days and offered an appointment time with a local psychologist within 10 days.
Written clinical feedback will be provided to the referring Medical Practitioner following the initial appointment, along with progress reports as required.
PsychAccess clinicians are members of the Australian Psychological Society, have approved skills, training and experience in evidence-based psychological interventions, and are committed to the code and conduct of their professional association.
PsychAccess psychologists are located across metropolitan Adelaide.
This psychological service merely augments any current referral options you may have with other psychologists.
This service does not provide crisis intervention services. If your patient requires an immediate assessment and crisis response please contact ACIS on 13 14 65, or make alternate arrangements for appropriate care.
Fees: medicare benefits apply.
Some additional fees maybe charged and the psychologist will discuss this prior to the initial consultation.
